2015 Highlights78 solo tackles, 5 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery led me to be 2nd team regional middle linebacker in my division 1 region. Although I am proud of these stats, I am more than just numbers. Behind these numbers I am a brother, son, friend and team mate getting to do what I love most. Play football! As my senior year is fast approaching, the passion I have within me for this great sport is only getting stronger. I know my senior season will be more explosive than ever. And I know I can do great things on the field beyond high school. My dedication and drive will make me a great asset to any college team.
I may be different than some candidates because of the examples I have had in my life that I have had the opportunity to learn from. I was taught to work hard and endure to the end. Never give up. My family is proud of me, but I am more proud of them. My parents married young and did not have the means to go to college. So instead they worked endlessly on building a solid family business while raising a strong family. Instead of a formal education, the world was their classroom. I saw them struggle, I saw them worry, and I've seen them fall. But I have never seen them give up. Their efforts have paid off and their 24 hour plumbing business is very successful. My dad is among the most respected in his field and all the customers love my mom. They have shown me the importance of faith, good quality work, kindness, determination, respect, and loyalty. I try to emulate these standards in all that I do, on and off the field.
I believe our trials and challenges shape us into who we are. Last year I went through one of the hardest trials I have ever faced when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has always been my biggest fan and supporter and I knew it was my turn to be hers. We relied on our faith as we rallied and cheered her on through her surgeries and treatments. It was hard watching her suffer but I never thought of her as weak. Her strength was inspiring as she was determined to look on the bright side no matter what. I saw how her positive attitude literally changed the lives of others.
I am a great football player but I am also a great leader, brother, son, friend, and team mate. To me family is everything and I consider my team family. If you choose me, I will play harder for you than anyone ever has, I will go above and beyond of what's expected and I will relentlessly fight alongside my teammates towards victory. I will give you my all!
