To any coaches taking the time to read my profile, THANK YOU! I know you read/skim through thousands of these, hopefully mine will be a little different.
I want to believe whole heartedly that I am a diamond in the rough. I have been challenged with an uphill battle and diversity throughout my entire schooling and education. I was brought up through 7th grade in 2 different 2nd chance Charter Schools, where the primary focus was around attendence versus education. I entered public school my 8th grade year and was immediately challenged with being severely behind acedemically. Many long nights, studying, and trying to play catchup acedemically.
When I hit high school, I was once again seen as an outsider. Being new to the area, unknown by coaches, I did everything I could to make a name for myself. I was once again faced with acedemic adversity and found myself trying to get more help and tutoring but couldnt find it. I finally decided that a transfer at the beginning of my junior year to Casteel High School was the best choice in order to improve and get the support i needed acedemically. The change was refreshing and the support I got both on the field and in the classroom was something I had never experienced. I have dedicated myself to not only football, but also acedemics, bringing my GPA to 3.5.
I made a a name for myself, hit the training hard after my sophmore year, and continued it through my junior year and still continue it to this day. I sat my first 5 games due to transfer, then hit the ground running in the last 4.
I think of myself a diamond in the rough. I maybe not be the biggest, I may not be the fastest, but my dedication, heart, desire, sportsmanship, and teamwork is the best you will find. I am always looking to improve and help improve my teammates.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope by doing so this is the type of player you are looking for at your college! I look forward to hearing from you.
