As a multi-sport athlete since the age of 5, I have learned a lot about myself through playing football, baseball, basketball, and running track. Each of these sports has taught me life lessons in their own unique way, life lessons that go beyond the field. In football, baseball, and basketball, I am a member of a team, a leader, and because of this, my teammates depend on me, just as I depend on them. In these team sports everyone, has a responsibility and it is critical that we hold each other accountable, to ensure the team is successful. Learning how to be a leader on and off the field is one of the most important takeaways I have from the past 8 years of playing multiple sports. These sports have taught me that I have a natural ability to lead and teach others. I have used these abilities to volunteer to coach tee ball and involve myself with other volunteer opportunities to be a part of my community. I enjoy teaching others what I know and continuing to learn from others’ experiences and knowledge. The skills I have learned resulted in me being named a Team Captain for the 2022 Football Season and winning the Leadership award for my team.
I continue to focus on getting better as a student-athlete by refining my skills at my positions and challenging myself in the classroom. I currently have a 4.0 GPA while taking Honors classes in the 7th grade. I often stay after school to help others in subjects that are a strength and attend different individual training sessions with my QB Coach and Hitting and Pitching Coach for baseball. I continue to challenge myself and compete against the best of my age group by attending different camps around the country. I have been invited to and attended FBU Top Gun, was Middle School Camp QB at the Quarterback Ranch Summer Tour, was a 2023 Gunslinger QB Competition Middle School Finalist, and won Most Accurate Middle Passer and Overall Middle School QB MVP at the EPIC 1on1 camp. I have also attended the 2023 NXGN VI QB Camp, NXGN Showcase, and 2023 Wilson QBX Camp. I look for anyway to get feedback from different coaches on areas where I need to improve. Refining my skills has resulted in me being named Offensive MVP for the 2023 season and being named Tournament MVP Pitcher at a Perfect Game tournament.
As I transition into high school and then college, I am interested in pushing myself in both the classroom and on the field. My goal is to maintain at least a 4.0 unweighted GPA while in high school and continue to learn at a high level when I enter college. On the field I want to maintain my high football and baseball IQ and share that with my teammates, while continuing to refine my skills and being a leader on and off the field. I am open to all options to continue to pursue my dream of playing college football and want to find the right fit for academic and athletic goals. I hope to continue being a leader and a role model for my younger brother and sister, as well as others in my community, to look up to.
