Personal Statement

I am a leader both in the classroom and on the football field. I have always maintained a GPA 3.8+ or higher while taking Honors and Gate classes. I was elected to the Student Body Association as the "Athletic Commissioner". I have been captain of my football team for the past 5 years and received the Outstanding Player Award for Leadership, Outstanding RB and Team MVP during my high school career. My goal is to attend college and play football. I plan on getting there through academics, football, and hardwork. I have recently been selected to attend 3 different military summer trainings. US Naval Summer Session in June, US coast Guard AIM in early July and finally the US Marines Leadership & Character Development Academy.

US Marines - Summer leadership and Character Development Academy (SLCDA)
7/16/17 to 7/22/17
Students selected will be chosen from a wide variety of backgrounds and invited to attend the week-long Academy held in Quantico, VA. Over the course of the week, they will be challenged to step outside of their comfort zone and to strengthen their confidence and leadership skills. They will hear from notable leaders from around the country, such as entrepreneurs, Holocaust survivors and Marine Corps Officers. They will be surrounded by a diverse range of students from around the country. Physical fitness will also be emphasized through physical training and scenario-based reaction courses. While those who complete all the events successfully will graduate, this is just the beginning. The goal of SLCDA is to return students back to their communities more confident, selfless and better equipped to improve the lives of those around them.
