Hi Coaches,
My name is Austin Reeves and I am going in to my senior year as a tight end for Granada football. My past grades were a reflection of my sophmore year mindset. I believed that I could slack off in school since I thought I was headed straight for the marines. Then things changed when I fell in love with the sport football. You can see that my work ethic completely changed second semester junior season. This was the semester that I realized that I need to fix my grades. Which is why I became much more hardworking not just on the field but also off the field. We are a run only offense but that doesn’t mean I can’t catch the ball. Unfortunately only running the ball means I don’t have any film of me receiving the ball and showing what I can do in open field. That does mean however that my blocking is something that I’ve been perfecting and focusing on. I am a committed athlete who gets straight to business play after play always giving max effort. I’m up at 5 a.m. everyday for practice and my decisions are always what will help the team not just myself. Hopefully after senior year I can continue my football journey at a college that passes the ball and prove that I am useful in open space to create plays when receiving the ball. However for now in High School my main concern is blocking and helping my team get a redemption at a state title.
