My entire life, I felt as if I was in my older brothers shadow. He was always the best athlete on any field he was on. Then the day came that I realized I was just as good, if not better. I have always been able to play up from my age group due to my size, athletic ability and work ethic. I am easy to coach and do whatever is asked of me. Last year, as a sophomore, I was moved onto the Varsity football team and the coaches had me playing positions I had never played before. I never complained and learned to succeed at these new positions. I was able to help my team win Section championship and was honored to be named the MVP. In 8th grade I was chosen to play on the Northern California All-Star Shriners football team. Following that game I was chosen to represent California All- Star team playing against Florida and Sweden. As a Junior, I received First team All-league, First team All-Metro, 1st team All-State, Sac Bee's Player of the week and Most Valuable Running Back. In lacrosse, I have played on the high school team since I was in 7th grade and have won 3 league titles and 2 state titles. I am tough, fearless and willing to do what it takes to succeed at any level. I have been a multi-sport athlete since the age of 4 and am looking forward to playing at the collegiate level. In 2016 my brother suffered a traumatic brain injury on the football field. This changed our family forever. His dreams of playing collegiate sports are gone. I learned that you cant count on your athletic abilities to get you to the top. In a split second, the life you thought you would be living can suddenly be taken from you. As it was for my brother. I am dedicated to getting my academics to match my athleticism. I am also dedicated to doing what it takes to play at the highest level. God willing, I will stay healthy and be able to play not just for myself but for my brother.
