Luis Maldonado '20 Recruiting Profile

  Being selected as my team's offensive captain this year is a reflection on my hard work and dedication I put in on and off the field from the first day I suited up as a freshman. I recall my first game as a Hillcrest Trojan. I was so excited to finally get the opportunity to play high school football. I had a smile on face that I could not wipe off. Even after losing the game, on the bus ride home a coach asked me "why are you so happy, we lost the game"? I responded, " I have been waiting for this day all my life and it was greater than I thought it would be". The expression on my teammates faces went from frowns to laughter and the remaining travel time home was a time I'll never forget with a bunch of guys that shared the love for football.

  Playing at the next level excites me today. I know I will be a strong asset because of the hard work and knowledge of the game I bring to the table.
