Johnathan Villalobos '14 Recruiting Profile

Growing up we ask ourselves what do we want to be once we become an adult. I asked myself what did I want to be, and how was I going to get there. I remember this one specific day where my mom had picked me up from my elementary school once school got out and I got in the car and she was listening to this weird song that I had never heard before. I couldn't help but to ask with a confused look on my face,"Mom, what songs is this? Is it new?" She looked at me smiling, nodding her head to the beat as she replied,"Mijo, listen to the lyrics. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't chase your goals. If you work hard you will earn what is rightfully yours." The lyrics talked about how "You can do it if you put your mind to it!" Now, in my family I am the oldest of four children and being the oldest means that my little brothers and sister look up to me and I have to set a good example for them. If I have a goal that I really want I work towards that goal day after day no matter how hard things might get one day because I know that the time, sacrafice, and dedication that I put in will be worth so much. I will never quit striving for my goals in life because I know that the rewards will be well worth the work and patientce.
