To the coaches who may read this far down....thank you!
I come from a long line of hard-working people whose work-ethic is second to none, which is why I love and appreciate the sport of football so much. From an early age I have been getting up early or staying up late until the last bit of sun goes down, to work out and practice at the game I love so much : football. I know it's grueling work, and there are many ugly days, but anything that's worth anything in life, takes daily perseverance and a commitment to the goals and dreams that one carries deep within oneself. For me, football has always been my first love and I never tire of it. From early childhood I've had a football in my hand. Once it was just a fun sport, but when I realized that I could actually "catch" the ball, and run fast with it, and actually score touchdowns, my confidence went up, and I wanted it more. This happened way before high school, and I have many amazing parent coaches to thank for believing in my abilities as a young athlete, which gave me the desire to push forward in the game of football. One of the reasons I love the game, is the camaraderie and the team building that comes with it. There is no greater glory than bumping butts on the field with your teammates after a TD and getting the high of a job well done on the field. I feel that I am easy to work with, and I really enjoy working with all kinds of guys from all kinds of backgrounds. This has made me a more well-rounded person and a better student, even, in the classroom. My parents and coaches have high expectations for me, because they believe in me. When all is said and done, they always remind me to "just do your best." When I know I've done my best, I can sleep at night. But when I realize that I could have done more, it makes me want to get back out on the field and prove what I'm made of even more. I know its hard to play football in college; I know many who do. Its alot of work, and there isn't much "down" time, and if there is any at all, it will spent studying. I'm prepared for this, as Loyola has prepared me well. I'm up every day at 4:45 to get ready for morning weight-lifting and workouts, go to school for 6 1/2 more hours, and then work out again on the field until 6. I'm not home most nights until 7, and by the time I sit down to do homework it is sometimes 8:30 - 9:00. I value my good grades, and I value my abilities on the field, which is why I keep at it. I WANT this, and I will do my absolute best to make the school I go to proud of me, and glad they took me on. Thank you for reading and I look forward to meeting you one day soon on the field.
