Jacob Weiss '18 Recruiting Profile

Of all the endeavors I've ever pursued, football has been by far the challenging and rewarding. Coming into a 2,700 student high school from a 400 student middle school, I was worried I would not be able to find friends or a place in the school to call my own. That all changed as soon as I attended my first practice. All though it was just offseason lifting and conditioning, the team welcomed me with open arms and made me feel a part of something bigger than I was. Since then, football has taught me countless lessons in determination, hard work, and ambition.

The want to succeed on the field has always helped me push myself in the classroom, and that isn't easy on the days were I don't get home from practice till 8-9 at night. Learning to balance studies and testing with the rigors and time commitment of football is a lesson that will stay with me till the rest of my life. Coming from a high school with notable rigorous academics, I'm looking for a program where I will be challenged in the classroom and on the field. I've given my all to everything I've ever done, from football to lab work to teaching both peers and younger students, and I fully intend to bring that same attitude to your program!
