Personal Statement

I’m an aggressive and strong athlete who loves to play the game of football!  I have been playing football for nine years; six years of youth football and three years of high school, two of them as a varsity starter.  I am very goal oriented.  My main focus has always been to play football at the college level, live my life to the fullest and 100% towards God.  I work hard in school and keep my body strong and healthy.  While playing two varsity sports in high school and maintaining my grades, I also volunteer in my community through local charities.  I have been an active member of our local chapter of "Boys Team Charity" since 2015.  Some of the things I have participated in through Boys Team Charity are:  fixing bikes for underprivileged children, working at the Food Bank, working in the local Hospice store and preparing special items to be given to families in need at the beginning of school and holiday times.  I am a captain on my varsity football team at Berean Christian High School, I was an NCS varsity wrestler during my sophomore year on the Berean wrestling team, and received the Second Team All Conference Defensive End award as a junior. As the oldest child of three boys in my family, I have learned valuable leadership qualities.  The way that I conduct myself in my family has always served as an example to my younger brothers.  I have always felt a strong responsibility to show them how to be responsible and work hard. I want to play to the best of my ability as a Christian athlete and as a leader on and off the field.  I want to have fun and play the sport that I truly love.  When I play, I put all of my effort and dedication forward and I always pray to God knowing that He has a plan for me.  By prayer, I know that my life has meaning and strength. I love to get after it on and off the field.  I only have so many years to play this game and I don’t want to put any of that time to waste.  I am excited for you to check out my profile and I’m looking forward to connecting with a school and team that I can contribute to.

  • I never thought that I would see myself as an All-Star on this amazing group full of young talented men. This is a huge opportunity for me to try out new skills and techniques as a Defensive End. The coaches are fantastic and they have taught me more than what I have expected to learn. I would love to work with them again if I could.

Training

  • Fitness 19 Workout
  • 4 years
  • I walk or run over to Fitness 19 down a few blocks away from my house every week day and at that point I work out on my certain muscle groups for 2-3 continuous hours.
  • Bereans Weights 3 program at school
  • 3 years
  • Every seventh period at school, me and the football team that is apart of the class will work out with our coach. We practice many things but we are mostly focused on squatting, power cleaning, deadlifting, and benching which is my personal favorite.
  • Hitting the Boxing bag
  • 5 years
  • I usually take my strength and my power on the bag, sometimes to clear my head, but mostly to work on my hand movements, power hits, and muscle memory.
  • MITT camp
  • 1 year
  • Every weekend I go off to Pittsburg high school or Los Madonas College to work with some amazing linemen coaches and players and I learn some new techniques everyday.
  • Mental and Spiritual Training
  • 6 years
  • About six years ago, I was in a rough patch which eventually led me towards having a passion for getting to know the Lord our Mighty God. I committed Tom Christianity at that time and from that moment on, I have been praying, reading the Bible, and going on missionary trips so I can grow closer to God.
  • Pushups, sit-ups, and squatting workouts
  • 7 years
  • I have been playing football for twelve years of my life and it was about 7 years ago when I finally decided to get some extra work in to impress my coaches with my strength. So I decided to do 25 pushups, 25 sit-ups, and 25 squats every single morning and I do it up to this day.
  • Running up the hill
  • 7 years
  • My dad and I are such Rocky fans and he told me that I should be running up Parizoe hill every day. So the first few tries were extremely hard but a year went by and it got so much better for me and I got stronger legs because of it. I still run up that same hill every day.
