My name is Jose Daniel Algandar, my friends call me JD. I started playing soccer at the age of 10 and noticed that I had a good handle on the soccer ball. I have always loved to watch football, but I never thought I would actually be playing the game. When I started High School, I thought maybe my handle on the ball would translate well on the football field. I played the kicker position on my highschool freshman team and had a pretty successful year. After my freshman year, I started working with a personal kicking coach, Mike MacGillivray from Kicking1on1. My love for the sport of football took on a whole new level, as my kicking skills improved. During my sophomore year, I played on the Varsity team and took over the senior kicker's starting position. I continued to work hard on the field and my skills have only improved. I played with the Varsity team for the remainder of my high school career. All my hard work paid off and I was named Special Teams Player of the year and given the Honorable Mention in kicking for the Hacienda League, for both my Junior and Senior Year.
I am serious about my career goals and I am excited about going to college. I am dedicated to the game and continue to practice on a daily basis even though my season is over. I am hoping to continue my education and the sport I love at the collegiate level. I am willing to put in the work necessary to acheive my goals.
