As a high school student, I have learned the importance of receiving a good education while achieving my highest potential as an athlete. My goal is to continue this path in order to succeed at the collegiate level and in life. Being a team player takes dedication and commitment. I consider myself hardworking, and I will do whatever is necessary for the “good of the team.”
Leadership on and off the field is important to me. I believe in leading by example and in helping others. As a senior, I make every effort to assist the younger students as well as my peers because respect gains leadership. For example, I am able to take charge in the weight room by teaching younger athletes the proper techniques which will help them prevent injuries. This will help them improve their strength and athleticism.
In the field, morale is equally important so I am upbeat and positive. I motivate myself and others to perform at their personal best. I am a well-rounded player and I can play more than one position. The positions I play are receiver, DB, kick return, and punt return. I am not a quitter, and I love playing the game!
In the classroom, I try my best to be thorough, ask questions, and request help whenever I need it. I understand that getting a good education is as important as being the best athlete I can be. Therefore, I complete my schoolwork and try to maintain good grades. I try to build good relationships with my teachers, coaches, other athletes, and my peers in school as well as out in my community. I frequently volunteer with the Special Olympics at a local school. I work with the players, teach them the game, and encourage them.
