Anthony Basso '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Anthony Basso, but everyone calls me AJ.  I am originally from South Florida where my football career started at eight (8) years old.  I played for the Weston Warriors an AYFL team for three years.  I played both sides of the ball, as Nose Tackle and Center.  I also filled in where needed, therefore learning the logistics of all positions.  We moved to Central Florida where I continued to play for the local MCYFL league where I moved into the position of Safety and Quarterback and special teams.  Moving into high school after three years of MCYFL I continued my position as starting Safety and Quarterback my freshmen year for the North Marion Colts.  After moving and switching schools I then, and still play for the Dunnellon Tigers as Line Backer. 


I currently play weak or strong side line backer, recieiving the calls from the side lines and relaying them to the team.  I make it my mission to go into each practice and every game ready to give 110% effort to playing as well as motivating my team mates.  I beleive in my heart I was born to play football, I even received  the 110% award my first year of playing as my coaches said I had more heart then anyone.  This is one of my fondest achievments, but I also played two consecutive years on the All Star team in MCYFL.

I am 5' 9" tall, am currently weighing 180 lbs.  I bench 300 and some change.  I enjoy spending time in the gym so much that I go before school, then hit the books during school, practice after school, and sometimes stay to work drills or conditioning after practice.


I am looking to go to a school where my talents can best be utilized.  Location is not a problem, as I am open to relocating to where ever I am needed.    I will be taking classes to work my way to a PhD in Physical Therapy.
