Sion Yu '20 Recruiting Profile

    Football was something that became my favorite thing to do.   I look forward to playing football each and every single year, since the 7th grade, when my middle school coach repeatedly asked me to play  football.  Ever since that year, I've loved the game and it helped me to learn perseverance, honesty, time management, and valuable leadership skills.  I received the 8th grade Football Team Captain Award.  I am, currently, a high school freshman in the pre-IB program with a final semester GPA of 3.7 (without credit from my weighted classes).  Also, I've made the all county middle school band twice and all state middle school band in 8th grade, and making the high school all county band this freshman year (instrument: Clarinet).  In addition, I was the middle school Student Body President in 6th and 8th grade.  My goal in high school is to be a leader on the football team and be in the all state band for the next 3 years becoming faster in Track and better at throwing the Shot Put.  In Track I hold my middle school's record for Shot Put (42.4 ft) and 100 Meter Dash (13.16 seconds), and received the 7th grade Leadership Award and 8th grade MVP award.  My goal in college is to major in engineering, pharmacy, and/or music, and of course participate in football and track.  In my spare time I've also studied Tae Kwon Do, and currently hold two Black Belts.
