As a three sport athlete that goes to a small private school in South Georgia, most of the teams we play are bigger, sometimes twice as big as ours. However this has only pushed me to become more competitive. My junior year of football I broke my right foot 3 games into the season. During my recovery I had a lot of time to think about my future in football, and I realized in those moments how much I wanted to continue to compete on the football field. Since my injury, I’ve made notable changes as far as the weight room is concerned. I’ve increased in size going from 175 pounds to 190. I also increased my strength and speed; all while maintaining a high academic standard.
Going through my injury and an unfortunate family situation I went through my freshman year of high school has truly taught me the meaning of dedication, commitment, and just trusting the process, as my coach would say. I’m also the captain of my soccer program and was voted All-Region and All-State soccer player my junior year; so I know what it takes to be a leader. What I’m looking for in a program isn’t just a place to play football, but also somewhere I would love to spend the next four years of my life working towards my college degree.
