My name is AJ and I have been playing sports all my life. My dream is to continue my sports career in college. I am one of the hardest and most dedicated athletes that you will ever meet. I always strive for perfection and excellence. I enjoy working with coaches and learning from their experience. In the 7th grade, I was the starting quarterback and free safety for the Junior High Team and was the same in 8th grade. In 8th grade, the Junior High Team won the championship. After working very hard, in the ninth grade I was the Junior Varsity starting quarterback and free safety. I helped lead our team to an undefeated season and was named the MVP of the team. I was the starting quarterback on Varsity my tenth and eleventh grade year and now my senior year. During my tenth grade year, my season ended the eighth game of the season with a broken forearm (completely healed), but I threw for 803 yards with no interceptions and won offensive MVP of the team. My Junior Year was even better throwing for 1,358 yards(I only played the first half of several games due to our team having a huge lead at half-time), breaking our coaches single season passing yards record, only throwing 3 interceptions, and leading the team to the semifinals of the state tournament losing by only a touchdown. I was named All State honorable mention, All Area Team, and Team MVP.
During my senior year, we won our region and made it to the Georgia Dome for the State Playoffs. My senior year was a very special year because my dad, who was also one of my high school coaches, was killed in a motorcycle accident right before my senior year. Our season was dedicated to my dad and I want to continue my career in football with the qualities that he has instilled.
I am a member of the National Honor Society, volunteer for the local Foster Parent Association, and a member of the technical support team at my church.
I am open to different type of colleges and universities and I have not definitely decided on a major yet, but I have thought about a major in education or computer engineering.
I am an extremely coachable athlete and want the opportunity to play on the college level where my skills can be used as an asset to the team.
