I started playing football at eight years old and when I scored my first touchdown I knew I would love the sport forever. Football has taught me a lot of things from the time that I started playing such as physical and mental toughness, but the one thing that I will carry throughout my life and never forget is perseverance.
When I started playing football we didn't have the best team. We would travel hours away just to get blown out and end our season 0-8. As a young athlete I still had that drive to be the best that I can be and that meant hard work and not giving up. After a few bad seasons we started to improve exponentially and we made it to the championship. We ended up playing a team that we already defeated earlier in the season but we lost 6-0. To this day I am still working towards getting my first championship.
I know that if I keep persevering and grinding to achieve my goals I can be an amazing athlete and I think my mindset of always wanting to be better is a great asset to have on any team. Using this mindset and my good grades I know I can make it to the college level.
