I Jaylan Turner have been playing football since the age of 5 years old. I started in Panhandle Park located in Lovejoy, Ga. I have played football consecutively from 5years old continuing through now my sophomore year.
Some of the most influential people in my life are my mom, dad, Nana, my first football coach (Coach Walker) and my current defensive coach (Coach Harris). I began to learn about football at the age of 4 years old. My dad (Michael Keepler) showed me a lot of NFL games, we also went to the park consistently to do drills. This was mandatory on or off the field to my dad. Which now helps me easily stay motivated and focus on the position I play and its easy for me to be versatile on the field and off. My parents also influence me to get good grades. I was taught to go above and beyond. It was drilled in me to overachieve, to push myself to all limits.
Through football I've learned to watch all my surroundings . I've learned how to be a team player. Football has also taught me patience, stay focus, and to be a leader.
My goals for high school is to graduate valedictorian along with being offered scholarship and grants. To be the best student athlete I can be. I also want to be able to participate in more social clubs to Brighten my horizon. My goals for college is to maintain 3.0 or higher, meet different people from around the world. Succeed in my studies and on the football field.
The obstacles that I've endured and over came were injuries which I healed from. I've had problems getting to and from practice. So I walked or my mom or coaches made other arrangements.
A few of my unique characteristics are awareness, strength, very ambitious, and I have great play recognition.
