- I train with my Uncle Matt. He was a former high school head football coach for a few schools on the Island including Saint Louis (Saint Louis has the most wins and state championships out of any school in Hawaii and was once ranked 2nd in the nation). He has won a State Championship as a head coach, he was also a starting linebacker for University of Hawaii when they were ranked in the top 25. He coached a few athletes that went on to play in all american games. We do beach training like sprints, hills, build ups, explosion drills, cone drills, ladders, footwork, linebacker drills. We also train at the gym and work on my flexibility and my explosion. We also build strength with weights. We do deadlift, power clean, snatch, squat, bench press, military press. We also do a lot of circuits using body weight, things like push ups and pull ups until failure. We also work on core after every work out. We do things like crunches, planks, side planks, high planks, burpees, Russian twists etc. We also watch film and go over linebacker reads and blocking schemes and how to recognize things faster like pass blocks, run blocks, screens, draws etc. On my own time I like to run. The run I go on in total is about 10 miles. During the season I only do the run on our days off, during the off season I do the run every other day in addition to training. I have also just started training at Pacific Elite. It was founded by two former NFL super bowl winners from Hawaii. NFL linebacker Manti Teʻo sometimes trains there too.
