My name is Jacob Zane-Higa and I currently attend Kahuku High & Intermediate School, located in the State of Hawaii on the Island of O’ahu, Class of 2016. My current activities include Football, Judo, Vocal-Motion (similar to a Glee or Choir Club), and a Volunteer Summer Youth Leader for government funded Park and Recreation Summer Youth Program for 4 years, helping young children with summer youth group activities Monday through Fridays.
Higher Education is the end game. To be the first in my family to go to College would be the ultimate “Game Changer”. My hope, like all Football Players is to be an NFL Player, but like all things in life you should always have a back-up plan and going to College will allow me to one day be a High School Counselor. Taking and applying the phrase “Game Changer” to almost every aspect of my life, allows me to put things in perspective.
“Student-Athlete”…Hard-Work and Dedication to both my Academics and Athletic training will be key to reaching that goal. SAT/ACT test taking and Football Clinics have been the goal going into my Junior Year.
Athletic Views…My eagerness to learn the Game of Football, allows me to be a “Coachable Athlete”, making it easier for my Coaches to get their job done. I believe in learning from your mistakes and not making the same mistake twice and taking enjoyment in all that I have gained.
Being a Football Athlete in a High School like Kahuku, I’ve had to find ways to be noticed, from standing up guys twice my size to being knowledgeable of my responsibilities as well as the responsibilities of others. By doing this, I have been able to gain the respect of not only my coaches but most importantly my teammates.
I believe that putting God first, will allow all things to fall into place…Ohana (Family); Academics & Athletics….This is my “Personal Statement”!
