My journey through life thus far can best be described in a single word: Perseverance. At an early age, I came to grips with the fact that I was neither blessed with the God-given abilities of a thoroughbred athlete nor the innate intelligence of a child prodigy, but rather the blessings that were bestowed upon me came in the form of ambition, drive, and fortitude. In retrospect, I am actually grateful that my achievements in the classroom and on the sports fields were earned, not gifted. With each milestone met comes a sense of accomplishment and pride, and it is that feeling that continues to motivate me to want more from myself. I am that kid who outworks, out-hustles, and eventually outlasts the competition. Where I am slower, I compensate with anticipation. Where I am weaker, I compensate with technique. In the end, I know I will persevere.
With respect to football, my short-term goal is to kick and/or punt for a college team that would allow me to leverage my athletic skills into a world-class education. My longer term goal, which admittedly is extremely ambitious and statistically improbably, is to become an NFL player.
