Aloha, my name is Julian Cortez and I was born and raised on the island of Maui. I have Native American and Salvadoran heritage and am willing to put in the work necessary to do great things. I currently have two years of tackle football, but as soon as I stepped on the field, I realized my newfound love for the game and the leadership roles that come with the sport. I set high standards for myself in academics, athletics, and creating great relationships off the field with others. From the start of middle school to now, I have always been an honor roll participant and have a 4.36 cumulative GPA. I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and am heavily invested in my community through many hours of volunteering. In the past year, I have been putting work in at both all aspects of the offensive and defensive line, but am recently gaining experience at tight end. I also have participated in canoe paddling for my school for the past two years, and plan to continue the sport even through my summers. I value creating special relations with everyone I meet and ensuring I spend time with loved ones. As a sophomore, my current plan for college is to double major in a combination of engineering, sciences, or military technologies, but I am open to other paths. Mahalo for looking at my profile and I hope we can have a chat someday given proper circumstances.
