My name is Canyon Harper, and I am currently in my senior year of high school. I come from a small town that is characterized by its rough and tumble attitude, which carries over into our school football program. Being on a 8-man football team has given me several advantages as it has allowed me to succeed both offensively and defensively. I am proudly carrying with me two state titles, carrying on a winning tradition here at Salmon River Jr-Sr High School. Though our numbers here are small our drive and motivation are huge. I am proud to be a part of that blue-collar work mentality.
Last year was one of my most successful years , though we did make it past the first round of the state football tournament. Offensively, I had 2100 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, and defensively, I had 65 solo tackles and 6 interceptions. My commitment to community, school, team, and self is noticeable to all around me, and I pride myself in my ability to give 110% at all times. I am excited to see what by senior year brings.
Like most young players, I have the aspiration of playing football at the collegiate level. I currently have a 3.88 GPA and taking several dual credit courses online to advance my education. It is my plan to play at a competitive school with esteemed programs. The sport of football has made me push myself to do better in school and to work hard and go the extra mile in everything that I do.
I am a good candidate for the team because I am able to play multiple positions on the field. I am very coachable and am willing to play whatever position the coaches will need me. I am a leader on the team and lead the team by example while building my teammates confidence.
