Kyle Lavand '14 Recruiting Profile

I absolutely love the game of football.  The thrill of Friday nights during football season is second to none.  Being on the field with my teammates and working together toward a common goal is a very special experience.  Leading the offense down the field in need of a game winning score is a feeling that can never be duplicated.  I'm driven by the competition and the brotherhood aspect that surrounds the game of football.  My junior year was special in that 4 of our victories came on last minute drives.  After losing in the 3rd round of the play-offs, all focus turned to looking for ways to improve for the following season.  The off season was spent working on speed and agility, hitting the weight room hard 6 days a week and fine tuning my Quarterback skills by focusing on my foot work.  I attended a number of camps and showcases during the summer.  The camps included the NUC Five-Star Showcase, Elite 11 Regional Quarterback camp and Nike Football training camp.  At the National Underclassmen combine in Illinois, I was recognized as the Junior class MVP Quarterback.  Although our senior season fell short of our ultimate goal, as Team Captain, I was very proud of our accomplishments.  We ended the regular season with a 8 and 1 record.  We implemented a new no huddle, high tempo offense and averaged 34 points per game.  I will always cherish my 4 years of high school football. It was a wonderful experience that won't soon be forgotten.  As I think about the future, I look forward to tackling the challenges that lie ahead.  It has always been my dream to play college football and compete at the highest level while obtaining an outstanding education to enable my success for the next phase of my life.
