My name is William J. Campbell, I am from Chicago, Illinois. I have been playing football since I was 6 years old. I never had the starting spot I wanted because I was never the strongest or fastest kid on the field. For most people that would make them work harder but for me it made me resent football and that later transferred over to me not doing what I needed to do for school. I really messed up in my first semester in high school, I failed most of my classes and didn't really go to any football practices. Three days before my first ever high school football game I broke my clavicle which sidelined me for the whole season. I never really knew what football meant to me before I wasn't able to play. Not being able to play triggered something inside me and made me view everything differently. I went to every practice and became a starting WR/TE for the varsity team my sophomore year. My junior year, the coach decided to place me as the starting quarterback and I thought to myself," this man is crazy, putting all of this responsibility on me, someone who has never played this position before." I went along with it and did tons of research, practiced in the alley behind my house throwing a football at an old milk crate and did at least an extra hour of quarterback drills everyday. I later went on to break my school's single game and season records for both completions and passing touchdowns. Every year I've gotten faster, stronger, and most of all more dedicated. I'm going to do everything in my power to go on to play Division I football. This game is my life and as I've grown these past few years I've realized that all I want to do is compete with the best. I love this sport and I'm ready to do anything and everything I have to do to work with the best.
