Antonio Kojo '19 Recruiting Profile

My school's football program has only been in existence for the past three years. I was among the first people to be apart of the football team. Because of the relatively new team of ours, we were ineligible to make state playoffs. But now, after three years, we are going to be able to qualify for state playoffs for the 2018 season. This is the highlight to my high school career because of the fact that after three years of hard work and trying to prove ourselves as a legitimate team, we finally have the chance to. This helped me grow as a student-athlete because it made me want to be part of something special. I knew my grades had to be really good in order to play, and that helped me become dedicated and obsessed with playing football.

When the team was first introduced three years ago, there were only a few guys that had played organized football before. I was fortunate enough to be one of those few. This taught me to be a more outgoing leader and a helpful voice out on the field. Because of the new environment many people were placed in, we had many ups and downs. Through these experiences, I learned how important it is to be committed and be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve success. Since the first season, our team record has improve each year, and that showed me that if you want to obtain success in life, you have to keep working together. Being apart of a football team taught me that no one man can change a culture, every single person has to be willing to buy into that new culture. I am looking for a program that is a good academic and athletic fit for me. I believe that I have the talent and attitude to compete on a college team. I've been a captain on my team and know what it takes to lead a team. I know I can prove to any college that I have what it takes to make it on the college level.
