Personal Statement
For me personally, two things that have dictated my life are achievement and knowledge. Academics have been the first priority and foundation of my football career. Taking AP classes has helped me strengthen my communication skills, goal setting, and achieving the best end result. Understanding and enhancing these skills in the classroom has molded me into a better player on the field. Keeping open communication between teammates and coaches, striving to improve my PR's, and maintaining motivation in any situation.
While my footwork and speed are a work in progress, my height and weight make me a consistant starter. Even when I was younger, my size alone would be key to completing winning plays. Over the years I didn't want to settle for mediocracy. I wanted to reach that high achievement and go above and beyond. Instead of working with just one personal trainer for everything, I choose to work with multiple trainers for each area of need. One for strength and conditioning that specializes in my position on the field and one for speed and footwork. This helped me not only continue to be a starter for our football team but stand out. Whether I hit a new PR for a lift or a new time for a 40yd dash, I could've always lifted 5 more lb or ran 0.02s faster. As we are all our own worst critics it is important to me to always train hard and strive for the best.
I am looking forward to learning new and different techniques on the collegiate field.
