Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Matthew Geitner. I am 6'4 and 300 pounds. I ran a 5.37 seconds in the shuttle and 24 in. in the vertical. I played left tackle and defensive end for my high school team, the Knoxville Blue Bullets. My sophomore year I was 2nd team All-Conference as an offensive lineman and 1st team All-Area. As a sophomore, many of my teammates looked up to me for leadership through tough times and I gave them the boost they needed. The 2010 football season was just as fun. Our team ended up being 7-3 and getting to the playoffs. I was given the honor of being on the Peoria Journal Star All-Area Team as an offensive lineman as well as this year. The Register Mail also selected me to be on their All Area Team. I was 1st team All Conference on O-line (unanimous), 2nd team D-line last year and first team this year. Senior year has come and gone fast with great memories and experiences. Our team finished 8-2 overall and hosted a first round playoff game for the first time in years. Some honors i have recieved this year are Team Captain, MVP Lineman for our team, Honorabel-Mention All-State, Peoria Journal Star All-Area(2nd time), Register-Mail All-Area(3rd time), 1st Team All-Conference O-line( 2nd time Unanimous), and1st team All-Conference D-line. I was also selected to play in the ICA Shrine Game which is an all-star game consisting of players from all around the state.I have narrowed down my majors to being either Education or go into a Pre-Law track. Ever since I was a little kid I have always wanted to play college football and that has not changed through the years. I am still open to going anywhere in the country to school. Thank you for your time.
