2010 HighlightsMy name is Garrett Wooten and I am 6'3" lineman for Normal Community High School (NCHS) in Bloomington, IL. Currently, a senior and will graduate in the class of 2013. My current cumulative GPA is 4.13 (5.0 scale) and with an ACT score of 29..
I have been voted “captain” for the 2012 season by my teammates. This year I am staring DT, OT and long snapper.
As year as a junior, I was the starting NT in a “3-4” scheme. I had the honor of being named 2011 Big 12 All- Conference First Team Defensive Linemen and 2011 Pantagraph All-Area Football Team. The Pantagraph wrote, “two-year starter commanded a lot of attention from opposing blockers.” I have also been named Big12 All Academic Team 2009, 2010 and 2011.
I really enjoy playing on the defensive line NT and DT. My favorite position on the offense line I play takle but my favorite postion is center as I take pleasure in the extra responsibility and leadership role. I had the opportunity to be a three year starter and lettermen. As a freshman, played 3 games on the freshman team, 2 games on junior varsity and was then moved up to varsity squad at the end of the season.
I am motivated to work hard on and off the field in hopes of making a significant contribution to my team in the next year as a senior. I am also a three year varsity lettermen in wrestling at the heavy weight class (285).

I am looking for an opportunity to pursue my education as a scholarship student athlete at an institute that provides the right balance of academics and athletics. In addition to football, I have a passion for pursuing an academic curriculum in areas of study to include math and science leading to careers in medicine, sport medicine and/or engineering. I am open any type of institution anywhere in the country to achieve my goals.
I am a team player, leader and person of integrity on and off the field. Playing football is a gift that you cannot take for granted because it can be taken away from you in the next play. The ultimate goal of a high school football player is to play in college and to get a college degree. When I play my last down of my high school career, I want no regrets and have created an opportunity to follow my dreams. Coach, If given the opportunity, I will be a person of charter who will excel on and off the field. I will not let my team, the institution or YOU down! This I promise and YOU will have no regrets!
