Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Benjamin Dixon and I'm a hardworking multi-sport player. I’m 6’3,180 lbs and I’m the fastest, most explosive player on my team, I’m running a 4.5 second, 40 yard dash and hope to improve it this coming season. I am a junior at the Tuscola High School in east central Illinois. I'm truly dedicated to sports while maintaining an academic standard of 3.5 or higher. I'm an athlete who knows the sports I participate in and often mentor my team mates.
Some of my most important accomplishments were receiving, All State Academic Team Award 2018 by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association and First Team All Conference Defense Back Award, 2018 in Class 2A. I have started varsity football since my sophomore year and play defense, offense and special teams (kick return). I had four kick returns this year in separate games, returned for touchdowns. I have lettered in Football, Basketball and Track each year, starting my freshman year.
I know that I'm capable of playing sports at the collegiate level and I look forward to being an asset to my team and school. What I can offer to a team is the promise to always work hard, strive to succeed and achieve and to never give up. I am the first to go to the field and the last to leave.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are wide open. I’m looking for a well rounded sports and academic institution possible in (Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, Wisconsin, etc..) but I am very open to going anywhere. I am open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. It doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and play sports I will be happy. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Sports Medicine, or Criminal Justice. However, my major may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sports I love at a high competitive level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to be an example to those who come after me. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and gave it my best would keep a smile on my face.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
Sincerely,
Ryan B. Dixon
