Matt Koontz '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matt Koontz and I am a senior at Hanover Central High School. I have played football since first grade and I absolutely love the game.  I have been a quarterback my entire life.  I have played on our varsity team since freshman year. I also played cornerback my freshman year, which gave me the opportunity to read defenses better. Being the quarterback has taught me leadership skills as well as helping to motivate my teammates. I lead by example, by working hard every single day on the field and in the classroom and encouraging my teammates to do the same. I am very competitive, and I will do whatever it takes to win a game. Even when we are losing a game, I always keep a calm, positive mindset and fire up my teammates to never give up. One of my strongest qualities is the ability to stay calm and levelheaded in even the most stressful situations.
