Caleb Schmiedel '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Caleb Schmiedel. I will be a graduate of the class of 2024 from Zama Middle High School located in Zama, Japan. I am an American citizen living on a U.S. military base and would like to return to the U.S. for college. I am interested in learning more about your school academically and what I could contribute to improving your already successful athletic program. I am a 5'11" wide receiver/tight end and corner back/safety. During my sophomore season I made an impact on the team offensively and defensively with 6 TD catches, 5 forced fumbles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions, one for a touchdown. I have been challenging myself in the weight room during the Winter to prepare for next football season, focusing on increasing my strength and speed. In the Spring, I play pitcher and center field for the baseball team. I am interested in your school academically so I can pursue a degree in sports psychology, sports management, or coaching. I would like to one day turn my passion for athletics into a career. I currently have a 3.762 GPA and will take the SAT in March 2022. As a sophomore, I am taking an academically rigorous schedule and earned a 4.0 GPA during the Fall semester. I am very active in JROTC as a regular volunteer in community events, a member of the JLAB academic team, and the leader of the JCLC week planning committee. I volunteer regularly in the community with the youth sports program as a referee and coach.
