Zak Martin '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Zak Martin and I am 18 years of age from Auckland, New Zealand. I have a passion for rugby but I also love watching american football and feel my skill set in rugby would be perfect as a running/tail back in football. My coaches have also thought I would go to America to give the sport a go and as I am getting older I feel that I want to do something different. I feel that the experience will be something I can look back on and  think "wow" instead of "I wish I had". I completed high school gaining a merit endorsement at all levels (1,2,3) which converts to a B in American vocab. I have studied one year at Massey university doing a bachelor of sport management/business degree and passed the year with a B average. I feel that the biggest difference for me and others is my character and the fact that I can get along with anyone which is why I'm wanting to do this. I can be disciplined which is obviously important, but I can also have a laugh which I think is also important. I want to study overseas but I also want to play sport and I feel that football would be a sport that I could fall in love with too. I have a sport CV that I can send to any coaches who are interested but my video will show my success in rugby and the skill sets that can be transferred to football. With a lot coaching and studying the sport, I feel that I could go a long way.
