Chris Miller '13 Recruiting Profile

The dream of playing  football at the collegiate and professional level began  for me was around the age 7 or 8. I watched the game of football for the first time in my entire life and from there I was absolutely hooked. I started playing contact football at 9 years old and I've played ever since then. I have a great love for the game I spend hours upon hours studying film and my playbook, but I always make sure I'm spending the same amount of time on school work. I always stress to myself student before athlete. If my dreams of playing pro football don't come through I know I have to have some kind of back up. That back up would be Sports Journalism which is going to be my major entering college. Back to the game itself, I'm an extremely hard worker when it comes to football. As a football player in general I can tell you that my work ethic is unlike any other you will ever see. On the field, in the class room, and in the weight room I push myself to the best of my ability and work to my full potential. The past few years in our football program we've been struggling to find wins. My freshman year the varsity team only won 1 out of 8 games and my sophomore year things only got worst as we didn't win a game at all. From my point of view I think our Head Coach had the wrong Offensive system going not to mention we lacked in size. But now as a team we've put all of that behind us this year we're moving into the Pistol Offense and I will be leading it at the Quarterback position. At five feet ten inches you probably think that I'm not fit for the Quarterback position, but I'd say I'm faster than most Quarterbacks, I have a quick thought process when it comes to the game, and I've been told that I have a good arm and have the football smarts to play at the position. I've never been awarded for any accomplishments and don't have any awards under my belt, but I'm going to continue working until I get one. This past year I was named the captain of the junior varsity team which I thought was well earned. My coaches and teammates around me saw my work ethic and my drive which led to earning that title. If things go well my Senior and I'm able to get recruited to a college to play football I wouldn't care what division it would be in I would be grateful to play anywhere and continue on playing football after high school and to continue to pursue my dream of playing Pro Football.
