Personal Statement

I am Andrew Lachance and I go to Maranacook High School in Readfield, Maine. I have a 3.93 GPA and am part of National Honor Society. Football is a large part of my life that is very important to me. I have changed my diet and exercise routines to focus around football so that I can improve at football. I love football and dream of being under those Friday night lights. I have been on my high school varsity team for the last three years and have started on both sides of the ball the last two playing tight end and defensive end.   This year I was fortunate to make the Campbell Conference All Star team as a receiver.  While football is a huge part of my life and I wish to continue playing in college, school has been my main priority. I'm currently third in my class while taking honors and AP classes and hope to be accepted into a competitive academic college. Playing football and earning a solid college education are my two goals for college. At 5 foot 11 and 175 pounds, I rely on my work ethic on and off the field to earn playing time. Even though I line up as a tight end for my high school team, because of my size I would plan on moving to wide receiver. Right now, I am hoping to go to a Division II or III school as a wide receiver in the Northeast but I am open to looking at other schools too.   The Northeast seems to have strong academic schools and I am familiar with some of those schools.  I am also considering future majors in engineering, math or a science related field such as pre-med. as these are my strongest subjects.
