My name is Josh and I am a Junior at South Portland High School in Maine. I come from a football family and I grew up loving the game. My father played football since he was really young until way after he graduated from high school. He gave me a love for the game that will live with me forever.
I have been playing football for a long time too. I started playing for South Portland recreation and played with them until I started high school. I was so excited to play my Freshman year and lucky for me we have a coach who really loves the game and did so much to help us become a real team. I was so excited to make varsity as a freshman while our team was away at pre-season camp. I couldn’t wait to tell my father when I came home. I couldn’t do that though. My father passed away the day before I returned from camp. My football teammates were a really important part of my life this year and we had an amazing season. I was able to be a starter on varsity and also played some JV games.
Football is an important part of my life and it is my goal to continue playing the game throughout high school and to go on to college and play there as well. I really love the game and maybe someday I will be able to play at a professional level. That would be amazing!
I would be proud to be a football player representing your school while I pursue a liberal arts education and explore many of the opportunities that a higher education would make available to me in the future.
Thank you for your consideration.
