2014-2015 Junior ...I could tell you myself why I would be a good candidate for your team but I'd rather have a Coach who has coached me for the past 2 years and will be my coach this upcoming year tell you, so here is my coaches reference.
Coach Reference:
To ‘Whom It May Concern’,
I have had the privilege of teaching and coaching Jared Ott during his Grade 10-11 Years of 2013-14 at Vincent
Massey Collegiate. He is one of the more enjoyable student-athletes that I have known in my 25 years as a teacher and
coach.
Within the VMC Trojans Football Program, Jared’s work ethic is second to none, and he has developed into a
tremendous student of the game of football. He was studious to the point, where I could foresee a future ‘great, young
coach’, who was developing right in front of me. He was considered by our staff to be an extension of our coaching
staff, and everything we would want in the ‘perfect’ team-player. Our trust in him is that high.
Jared has never needed the ‘title’ to be one of our best leaders in our program. He is on time for every
meeting, every workout and every practice. He always has kept his teammates focused in times of chaos, and
‘modeled’ what a team-player should be every day at practice. His selfless encouragement towards all, and his
positive attitude, is inspiring to his teammates, and coaches.
Academically, Jared epitomizes the ideal ‘Student-Athlete’, having achieved a ‘Cum Laude’ (Honor Roll) Level
at Vincent Massey in his Grade 10-11 years. He also achieved the Vincent Massey Trojans Football Program’s
‘Academic Honor Roll’ status the past 2 seasons.
I have detailed all of Jared’s accomplishments to date in his young, accomplished life, but let me provide you
with a ‘personal testimonial’… Jared Ott is what is ‘right’ in today’s Young Adults, and he epitomizes the ideal
‘student-athlete’. As our world continues to have moments of irrationality, and chaos, Jared represents the ‘Eye of the
Storm’; the good in all our youth, today, and for the future. He is an extremely selfless, giving person. I can’t admire
and respect him any more than I do at this time. He is an incredible young man, who will no doubt be a tremendous
leader in his future community as a friend, husband and father.
Jared’s great leadership and citizenship has resulted in him being one of our most respected student-athletes
at Vincent Massey. Not only by staff, but, more importantly, by his peers. He is a great representative of the ‘whole
school’ experience, and it’s student body, at VMC.
Jared will always be one of those ‘great kids’ that I cherish from my years at VMC. I am extremely proud of
Jared - as his teacher, coach and friend.
