My name is Chidi Ejoh. I am a defensive end for Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland. When my father had signed me up for football at the age of 7, I had never watched a football game in my life. I was unaware of the rules or the flow of the game. My first day of practice I was not even equipped properly. I did not enjoy football in the early stage of playing. But as time grew, I began to love the bond and closeness our team formed. We laughed, won, and lost together. This is where I began to learn the importance of teamwork and relationships in life. I had learned that a mistake or bad decision of one individual could affect multiple other people. No one person is necessarily more important than the other. Strength in numbers had become apparent. Due to the fact that captains were looked up to, I was also driven to be a leader in my life. Football had a profound impact on me as a person.
I identify as a Catholic. I am a proud man of faith. My mission in life has always been to spread kindness and to avoid judging others for who they are. Give assistance to the needy as much as possible. I would like to help people in any way I can throughout my life. As a student I am always looking to learn the most possible, and I put my schoolwork second to none. I would be honored to play football at the collegiate level. I would ultimately like to attend a school where I can obtain a quality degree, be provided with a good education, enjoy myself, learn, and play on the football field.
