Kylan McCubbin '13 Recruiting Profile

I strive for excellence in the classroom and on the field. When I am in the classroom, I try to separate myself from the crowd, so I can try and have the most concentration I can get. It might sound crazy coming from a teenager, but I cut a lot of friends out of my life. If I can see that someone is going down the wrong path of life, then I won’t be friends with them. If someone doesn’t want to succeed in life, then why would you let them hold you back? My mom deserves all of the credit mostly for shaping me into who I am today. She has taught me to be independent, to be a leader, a hard worker and be a great student because these are what will make me succeed. The world around me doesn’t shape who I am, my mother and I have shaped me into the person that I am today, and the person I will become. My education is the most important thing to me, but playing football is a close second because I enjoy the sport, I enjoy the challenge and always put forth 110%. I'm the team captain on both my high school football team and baseball team, because of this, I always stay positive for my teammates, I always encourage them to do better, because I believe there is always room for growth. I would like to be a part of a school that will not only challenge me educationally, but also athletically.
