I started playing football when I was in the fourth grade. I knew from the moment I put on those pads that I was going to love the sport. I continued to play through middle school and into high school. Playing football has made me more confident. For the rest of high school I plan to remain in dual-enrollment classes. For college I would like to major in Engineering. I have been able to use my leadership skills by being a peer mentor to a younger student with autism in a classroom. I have been able to encourage him to engage with other students, boost his confidence, and to participate more in class.
