Football has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I come from a family of football players. My dad was the starting wide receiver and punt returner at Grand Valley State University (1984-89) and two of my uncles played college football as well (GVSU, MSU). Football has always been my #1, however my love of sports in general, has taken me into LAX, basketball and baseball, where I was the MVP of my baseball team Freshman and JV years. I was the starting WR my sophomore year at my Division 1 (highest) High School and am currently the Captain. This past season was tremendous and we most recently just completed a perfect 9-0 season for the first time in school history.
Coming off a 1-8 football season in 2015, I have grown so much as a person and an athlete. A losing season helped me to re-direct my own efforts to become a better athlete. I am pursuing only one sport these days and my goal is to continue to become faster, stronger and more agile in order to be the solid wide receiver capable of playing college football (my dream).
Time management is always the obstacle that I strive to overcome. The busier I am with sports, the more organized I feel like I am with my academics. Keeping it all in line and on time is part of the discipline that works for me. I am proud to say that I maintain good relationships with my teachers and peers. I was hand-selected by one of my high school coaches and the athletic director to be a part of our school's new "Leadership Program" (20 student athletes) to mentor underclassman/athletes and to be a role model for exemplar behavior, scholarship and character.
I am sure I have the teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, leadership and talent that you are looking for. I hope that you will check back often and see what great things are happening with me in football.
