Personal Statement
- My name is Owen Semp and I lived the previous 4 years with my family in Germany. The experience has been a good one as I have been able to attend two international schools and to travel with my family to 18 different countries in Europe. However, the tough thing about moving to Germany for my Dad's work is that I have not been able to play the sport that I love the most.
- I started playing youth football at the age of 7 and have always had a goal of playing at the collegiate level. This year, my parents allowed me to return to Michigan to participate in my junior year of high school and to get back involved with football. For the next year, I am living with guardians in Michigan until my parents return home.
- I am a dedicated student focusing heavily to make a successful academic transition from international schooling back to a US high school. On the football field, I had always played quarterback before we moved overseas. However, after many years away I have switched to a wide receiver position and am enjoying the opportunity to play at Detroit Catholic Central High School. This has allowed me to utilize my height, speed and quickness to play a contributing role to our team's success this season.
By offering me an opportunity to play at your school, you will inherit a dedicated, committed and focused student-athlete who will represent your team and school in a positive way. My aspirations are to play wide receiver in college and to obtain my degree in the area of exercise & nutrition science.
