Growing up as a kid, athletics have always been a huge factor in my life, being an athlete has taught me to be disciplined, hardworking-you have earn the things you want in life, organized, taught me how to challenge myself in different situations, it has developed my character. I believe that in order to accomplish my goals, I have to separate myself from the norm and become a great athlete.
I love the competition, the challenge and how it pushes me not to fail, because growing up in my family as a kid failure was not an option. I believe that it is my support system, my family has encouraged me to reach my goals.
When looking over my life and all of the experiences that I’ve had thus far, I can truly say that athletics has been one of the most positive impacting factors. Being an athlete has taught me many important lessons like the value of hard work and also teamwork, it has also cultivated my character as a leader. Not only have I had to learn how to persevere through personal challenges in my social life, as far as picking the right crowd to surround myself in, but I have also developed a strong appreciation for diversity while working with many different groups of people.
Having the opportunity to become a collegiate athlete would impact my future by sharpening the skills and abilities that I already possess not only athletically but academically as well. Playing a sport at the collegiate level would just be a bonus, but the opportunity to gain a free education would be a lifelong blessing. As a collegiate student athlete I would gain the discipline needed to excel on and off the field, being able to prioritize my schedule and focus, making sure that I am successful in all arenas.
If I am accepted for the athleadership grant and awarded an NCSA membership, I believe that I will be able to achieve my goal of being a collegiate student athlete with the assistance it would provide. All I need is the chance and opportunity; I promise that you will not regret it and I assure you that my drive and determination will pay off in the end. I have been training for this opportunity since a child. No one will stop my grind, this grant will help me shine, you have the ability to help dreams come true so why not start with mine? Thank for your time and this opportunity. It is greatly appreciated.
