Cole Wentzel '19 Recruiting Profile

    Being awarded the most improved player on the Varsity team as a sophomore has been the highlight of my high school football career thus far. Being given this award gave me the drive to work even harder in the off season to get ready for one of my biggest years in high school, my junior year. That hard work payed dividends as I have had a great Junior season so far.

    The school that i play for, Albert lea High School, has had some struggles with winning the past 10 years. Last year however we had a tight knit group of seniors and a few juniors and sophomores that pulled together as a unit and won our first homecoming game in 4 years, which also led to winning our senior night game. These struggles and frustrations have only made me more focused on the field and in the classroom. Coming from this background I have had to be a leader for the team on and off the field. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe i have not only the talent to compete for a college level team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
