I remember the first time I played football. I was only 6 or 7 and it was only flag football, but the first time I caught a ball during a game brought out something in me that never went away. It filled me with adrenaline, a rush, confidence, and an aspiration to continue playing the sport. Now after 10 years of experience I have learned that the sport influences my life even more. Playing football still gives me a rush and confidence, but it has also taught me discipline, teamwork, and respect.
Life is not always easy and I have experienced my share of ups and downs. However, two things remain constant in my life. One is football, the other is my mom. My mom has been there for me through all adversities including my dad walking out of my life. She is another reason I love football. She believes in me and sees things in me that I never saw in myself. I would love nothing more than to be able to continue my football career and get my degree for me but also for her.
Finally, my love for sports is a huge reason I want to play college ball. Football is my biggest love, but I enjoy and appreciate all of the other sports as well. I see my future in the sports world and getting to play college ball would envelop me even deeper into that world. Not only would playing motivate me in the college classroom, but it would also push me to get my Masters Degree in Sports Management, Sports Journalism, or Sports Broadcasting. I think I would do great in any of these fields.
I love football and I will work hard and do everything I can to be the very best I can be for myself, my mom, and my team!
