Jake Schany '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jake Schany and I'm from Blair, NE. I am currently a junior and I will be graduating in 2012. I have played varsity for the Blair Bears for two years and started both years. The Blair Bears have gone 10-2 the past two seasons and have lost in the state semi-finals each of those years. In my sophomore year I led the team in tackles and received several post season awards including the teams "Thousandth Man" award and honorable mention All-State. In my junior year I led the team in tackles and broke two defensive team records that had been held since 1968 (solo tackles 83) and 1978 (total tackles 127). I was voted the teams MVP on defense and was a Huskerland Preps/Rivals All-State player. I consider myself to be a good leader and I work hard on the practice field and in the weight room. I feel like most of my teammates look up to me because of my work ethic. As much as I love football academics are just as important to me, and I work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the football field. My goal is to play football in college and pursue a degree in business/finance.
