Alexander Young '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alex Young. Iâ??m a 6â??1â? 190 pound junior Wide Receiver at Edward C. Reed High School in Sparks, NV. This was my second year on Varsity as I was on Varsity as a sophomore. As a sophomore I started 3 games at Wide Receiver and played lots of special teams. This year on Varsity as a junior I started every game at Wide Receiver and I had 16 catches for 315 yards which is 19.69 yards per catch and I also had 2 Touchdown receptions. While my numbers of catches were not high, due to our run first offense, I feel I contributed to the maximum with the receptions I had and with my blocking ability. I get the same amount of excitement from blocking as I do from receiving as you will see in my highlight film. Iâ??m a hard worker that is 100% willing to put the work in so I can be my best at the next level. I work hard in the weight room and on the track but mostly I work hard in the classroom. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and Iâ??m taking my SAT on March 12, 2011. My weight room stats are Bench: 205, Squat: 330, Power Clean: 255, a 4.75 40yd dash and a vertical jump of 33â?. Iâ??m looking for a college at any level; to not only play football, but mostly to further my education as a student athlete. I would prefer to go to school in the west but will welcome any opportunity. I am undecided on a major but Iâ??m leaning towards Physical Trainer or a related field. I realize the hard work I need to put in to become bigger, faster, and stronger for the next level and Iâ??m 100% ready to put the work in to become a better player. I am versatile enough to play WR, Safety or Defensive back and am working hard at adding weight and muscle to play Defensive end and Tight End. I have also played Varsity baseball as a sophomore and will be playing again as a junior.
