My formal name is Donald Ryan, but people call me DJ. I will be part of the graduating class of 2022 at Leo Hayes High School in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. I am interested in playing football at the post secondary level and learning more about my options. I am considering a Degree in Athletic Business or Kinesiology. I presently have an average of 80 (Grade ten) and am looking to improve my grades during the next two years.
I am a coach-able, hard working and dedicated athlete. I am a team player and do my best to encourage my teammates. I have a strong desire to win and I can learn from all situations. I am a good student and multi sport athlete. With a very busy schedule, I understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics. I play other high-performance sports, but I feel driven in the sport of football. I have a strong defensive football IQ and I am dedicated to enhancing my skills on and off the field. I take practice very seriously and work hard on improving my strength and conditioning through weight training and cardio. I have a strong work ethic and passion for this game. I enjoy the entire experience of football. I love the comradery with my teammates and coaches, the team atmosphere, and the opportunity to represent my school and province. What sets me apart from other players is that no matter the score and no matter how little time is left on the clock, I give 110% effort into each play.
My High School and high-performance Provincial Coach, Vince Sturgeon, has been quoted in our provincial newspaper stating, “DJ is an outstanding player. He is just a phenomenal, instinctual player- athletic, fast, great hands. He’s only in grade 10 and should be one of our better players the next few years.”
