As a college student-athlete, I want to study business so that I can one day have my own business. Playing college football is a must! I think I would be a great candidate because I am a hard worker on the field, take direction and correction well, am respectful of my coaches and teammates, and have been called 'a force' on the field. It is a passion. I think what makes me different is the situation I came from. After suffering a catastrophic, near fatal accident on the football field my freshman year, I had to fight my way back. I was told I would not be able to play contact sports again after I had a miraculous healing at Children's Hospital Boston. It took over two years to heal, I went back to the gym, and worked hard to get strong enough to play again. The doctors at the hospital were amazed and after all the testing, said I could play again. Once I got back on the field, I had to work hard to get a starting position. I earned the Mortenson Award (MVP) my senior year and we won the state championship with a 12-0 season. My academics were a mess because of the injury and missing so much work. I chose to do a post grad year at Bridgton Academy in Maine so that I could learn the material I missed and do well in all my courses. I am achieving that now, and I am proud to say that what I thought I couldn't do, I am doing...I have to work very hard to get to where I want to go!
